  Traffic Lights in the Sky
IMG_1104

Here are some traffic lights in the sky. I like the way American signs command one to "yield". In the UK, where I am an immigrant from, they write "give way" instead. Give way sounds a bit like give up, whereas yielding is more active. Does that tell us anything about the American psyche? Your guess is as good as mine.

Comments:
Funny you posted a traffic light. I have a very bad memory of those in the US for, as a European, we're used to stop right before traffic lights not before the crossing.

So that the first a european drives in the US, he usually stops right in the middle of the crossing, right where cars are supposed to run...

I liked the fact you could turn right on red as long as there was no traffic coming...worked for me!

A picture a day from the capital of slackerdom! (unless we had too many mango margaritas the night before). Always weird, sometimes wonderful... put on your flip-flops, grab a breakfast taco, and hop in the VW bus with us for a spin around town :)
