  Read all about it!

This statue of an enthusiastic newsboy of ye oldeyn tymes stands outside the Texas Press Association on Fifth Street. Perhaps he comes from the 1880s, as 1880 was the year the association was founded. I wonder what he is thinking. Maybe, "I wish it was time for my lunch now..." ?

Comments:
beautiful statue.

That's a great bronze sculpture. It really captures and freezes a moment in time from the past. It's a pity it isn't in an older looking setting; the newish looking stone wall behind it doesn't compliment the boy. However, he can't be moved. I can recall trying to photograph similar things but local councils in their wisdom had placed waste receptacles immediately behind them.

A picture a day from the capital of slackerdom! (unless we had too many mango margaritas the night before). Always weird, sometimes wonderful... put on your flip-flops, grab a breakfast taco, and hop in the VW bus with us for a spin around town :)
